PROGRAMS WE SUPPORT

For eligible first-time homebuyers earning at or below 140% of area median income. Prices are set by HHFDC, not the market, giving qualified buyers the opportunity to own in Kaka'ako at a price that fits their budget. A 5% down payment is required, and gift funds from a relative are allowed up to 35% of the purchase price.

The HHFDC Dwelling Unit Equity Pilot provides $70,000–$90,000 toward your purchase price — structured as a second mortgage with no monthly payment, 0% interest, and a 30-year term. Designed for professions facing a labor shortage in Hawai'i:

· EMTs & water safety officers
· Agricultural field workers
DEP applicants follow the same HHFDC application process with one addition: a completed, signed, and notarized DEP Affidavit, plus a separate pre-qualification letter specifically for the DEP program.
